Congratulations to the OBGC Cyclones Blue U15 girls soccer team for almost winning the Championship Bracket of the 2010 OBGC Capital Cup tournament over the Labor weekend, 9/4-9/6/2010.  The OBGC Cyclones Blue, under the coaching of Steve and Greg Kenel, beat the CSC BARCELONA GIRLS FC 5-0 , MSI BLUE STAR 5-0 and SOUTHWESTERN YOUTH ARSENAL RED 3-0 to qualify them to play in the championship game on Monday. The OBGC Cyclones Blue tied the MSC Rush in regulation and the game went into sudden death by penalty kicks with the OBGC Cyclones being the finalists in the championship game at the OBGC Freeman Fields.

Congratulations to the OBGC Cyclones White U15 girls soccer team for winning the Premier Bracket of the 2010 August Cup tournament over the August 28-29, 2010 weekend.  The OBGC Cyclones White, under the coaching of Steve and Greg Kenel, beat the Loudon Soccer 95G Red and Concord Soccer Association United Premier (Wilmington, DE) and tied the McLean Youth Soccer Club Fury White to win the Premier Bracket.  In the championship game at the Maryland Soccerplex, the Cyclones beat the VSA Heat-Gold from Gainesville, VA 2-0.

U14 OBGC Rangers Win Region 1 Premier League Spring Playoff’s on Sunday, 5/9/2010 in Kirkwood, DE. After finishing in first place in the region 1 league southern section. The Rangers played  Montclair Gauchos . Result: 1-1, Rangers won on Penalty kicks, 5-4, and advance to final championship round. The final was on 5/9 between The Rangers beat Team America Stripes. Result: 2-1, Rangers emerged as Region 1 Champions. and are now headed for the US Youth Soccer Region 1 National Championships in Barboursville, West Virginia, July 1-6, 2010. Also come out and support the Rangers on Saturday June 5th  in the STATE CUP FINAL  AT 9:00am  Vs  Potomac Fire  at the Maryland  soccerplex field # 9

Cyclones White are President's Cup Champs!

Both Cyclones teams played in the Maryland SoccerPlex's Presidents Day Indoor Soccer Tournament on February 15th. Both teams played very well!!! The Cyclones Blue faced some tough competition, playing in a combined U14/15 division. The Cyclones White played in a tough U14 division, but were able to beat the Damascus Sparks, 4-1; and the FC Frederick, 3-2; and tie the DC Stoddert Mischief Blue, 1-1. As a result, our girls won the U14 division and won vouchers to a Washington Freedom spring season game!! Congratulations!

During the Thanksgiving Holiday the U14 OBGC Rangers traveled to Orlando to play in the Disney Wide World of Sports Junior Soccer Showcase sponsored by Chelsea football club. The Rangers were victorious in their efforts and won the top flight of the U14 bracket. With the help of three guest players the Rangers defeated teams from Texas, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina. In the finals the Rangers defeated the Dallas Texans premier team 4-1. Following the awards ceremony the boys had their team picture taken with Mickey Mouse.
 
It was a great experience for the boys to play against other high ranking teams. This opportunity was made possible in part by the generous support of OBGC. During their down time, Coach Matt Pilkington escorted the boys on many of the wild rides at Universal Studios. Not only was it a successful trip for the players but also a good time had by all.

Preceding this exciting trip to Orlando, also late in November 2009, the U14 Rangers wrapped up NCSL league play by rendering a Division 1 championship! It was quite satisfying for the boys, especially having come so close to winning the division in the spring, 2009 (we ended up in the #2 spot). 

OBGC Cyclones Blue U-14 team won the Columbia Columbus Day Tournament held October 10-11, 2009. The Cyclones defeated Calverton Strykers 1-0, Hereford United 2-0, Crofton Freedom 1-0 and Loudan 95 Black 1-0 in the final game after penalty kicks.
